Dear 5th Grade Families,
This school year is a journey filled with growth and discovery, where each choice can create new opportunities for your child's future.
The NYC Public School middle school application process will begin on October 15th. Please check your child’s backpack for a letter with instructions on how to create an account and apply for your child. To support families, Ms. Danielle Doyle (guidance counselor) and Ms. Kristen Druda (parent coordinator) will conduct two workshops to help you navigate this process:
- Virtual @ Zoom: Friday, October 10th @ 9:00 AM (Meeting ID: 954 2915 3730 Password: 031059)
- In-Person @ PS 59: Thursday, October 30th @ 8:15 AM
District 31 Middle School Fair will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, 5:00pm-8:00pm at Susan Wagner High School
NYCPS Virtual Family Admissions Events:
- October 21, 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Interpretation in: Bangla, Korean, Spanish, Albanian
- October 22, 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Interpretation in: Chinese (Mandarin), Haitian Creole, Urdu, Ukrainian
- October 23, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Interpretation in: Arabic, French, Russian, Uzbek
Here is the timeline for the middle school application:
- Wednesday, October 15, 2025: Middle School Application Opens
- Monday, November 3, 2025: Deadline to register to test for Mark Twain I.S. 239 (21K239) and District 21 Talent Tests
- Friday, December 12, 2025: Middle School Application Closes
- Wednesday, April 15, 2026: Middle School Offer Release
