School Updates
March 6, 2026
Thank you to all the families who attended Parent-Teacher Conferences this week. We truly appreciate your time, partnership, and commitment to your child’s learning. If you weren’t able to join us, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher to schedule an appointment at your convenience—we always want to stay connected and keep those conversations going.
This is also an important time of year for our NYC School Survey, now open for families, students (grades 6–12), teachers, and staff across 3-K through 12. Every year, the survey helps school leaders better understand what members of their school community think and feel about their school. Your voice matters, and the feedback collected supports meaningful dialogue about how to strengthen our school and make it an even better place for students to learn and grow. We are also aiming to earn recognition through the NYC School Survey Recognition Program. Schools with exceptional participation will receive a green ribbon on their survey reports; something we would be proud to achieve together as a community!
A quick reminder that Spring Picture Day is Thursday, March 12th. Only students who purchase a photo package will be photographed, and this is a wonderful opportunity for siblings to take a photo together. All 5th graders will have their pictures taken for the yearbook, regardless of purchase.
In addition, the Summer Rising application is now open for students in grades K–5. And our PTA’s March fundraiser, Skate Into Spring, be sure to reserve your tickets online and invite friends and family to join the fun!
📸🌸 Spring Picture Day is Coming! – Thursday, March 12th 🌸📸
Get ready for big smiles, bright colors, and special moments!
Spring, sibling, and 5th‑grade graduation picture order forms have been backpacked home. You can also purchase online here.
Our PTA is looking for volunteers to help make Picture Day run smoothly. If you’d like to lend a hand, please sign up using the form or email: 📧 events@theharborviewschool.org
💛 MSK & MBK Service Project Kickoff: “MSK for MSK”
This week, our My Sister’s Keeper (MSK) and My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Clubs launched their service project: MSK for MSK, supporting Memorial Sloan Kettering.
To build excitement, both clubs are hosting a Penny War in the main lobby!
Students can participate daily by adding change to their club’s jar.
Are you Team MSK or Team MBK?
Our MSK Club has invited all District 31 MSK Clubs to join in this meaningful initiative.

- Their teacher can identify them quickly.
- No renaming is needed.
This is the fastest and most accurate way to join remote classes.
If You Join Using Your Own Zoom Account
Families may join the meeting using their personal Zoom account, but:
- You must rename yourself with your child’s full name and class or grade.
