Student Government Update

Today, candidates running for student government presented their campaigns to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, demonstrating their passion and commitment to improving our school community. Mark your calendars for Monday, November 10th, when elections will be held. Encourage your child to engage in this democratic process! Winners will be revealed on Wednesday, November 12th, during the morning announcements, creating an exciting moment for all involved. On Thursday, November 13th, we will hold our annual induction ceremony to officially welcome our new student leaders into their roles. We look forward to celebrating and supporting our student government!

NYC Reads!

Thank you to everyone who attended last night's Coffee and Conversation on the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). It was a delight to spend the evening exchanging insights on how MTSS can enhance your child’s reading and writing skills, along with practical strategies for supporting literacy at home. Your engagement was greatly appreciated!

For those who couldn't join us, we’ve got you covered! Attached to this message, you’ll find a copy of the presentation and a one-page flyer summarizing our discussion's key points. We hope these resources will assist you in supporting your child’s learning journey at home.

Important Reminders for Families

As we progress through the school year, we want to ensure you stay informed and engaged in your child's educational journey. Here are a few reminders to help you stay connected:

  • Blue Folders:

    • Regularly check your child's Blue Folder. This essential tool for home-school communication contains important messages, home-school connection activities, and permission slips for upcoming events. Staying updated with this folder will keep you informed about school happenings and your child's participation in various activities.

  • Orange Assessment Folders:

    • Your child's Orange Assessment Folder holds their latest progress reports. Reviewing these reports will provide insights into their academic development and an excellent opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns with your child’s teacher.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences:

    • We encourage you to bring any questions or topics regarding your child's progress to the upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, November 19th. These conferences are a valuable time to engage with teachers in more detail about your child's development. Please note that all students will have an early dismissal at 11:20 AM on this day to accommodate the conference schedule.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child's education. Your engagement significantly enhances their learning experience. We look forward to seeing you at the conferences and continuing our partnership in fostering your child’s success.

Comfy Cozy Day Celebration and Let's Move Fundraiser Update

We are absolutely delighted to share that our Comfy Cozy Day—Pajama Day on Thursday, November 6th, was a smashing success! It was wonderful to see everyone come together in the spirit of relaxation and celebration, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere throughout the school. Thank you to all the students and staff who participated, making the day truly special and memorable.

Let's Move! 2025 Fundraiser Extension

In addition to our joyful celebration, we're excited to announce that we are extending our Let’s Move! 2025 fundraiser until November 15th! We are incredibly close to reaching our ambitious schoolwide goal of $15,000, and your contributions have brought us within reach. To help us cross the finish line, continue supporting our SIX SEVEN initiative, where students are encouraged to collect small donations of $6 or $7. These contributions are vital in supporting our field experiences and in-school enrichment programs.

Every single dollar counts, and together, we can achieve this milestone. Thank you for your continued enthusiasm and support in helping us enrich our students' educational experiences. Let’s keep the momentum going and make these final days of the fundraiser a great success!

Fall Picture Day

We’re thrilled to announce that Picture Day was a fantastic success, and we extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing parent volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly. Your dedication and support are truly appreciated!

For families who ordered a picture package, we anticipate delivery in approximately two weeks. If you did not pre-pay for a package, you will receive a photo card that allows you to purchase a package online. Please remember, if you would like your child’s photo retaken, our retake day is set for January 8th.
